Aromatherapy massage has the addition of scented plant oils called essential oils to address specific needs. The therapist can select oils that are relaxing, energizing, stress reducing or balancing depending on your needs. It’s perhaps best for stress or conditions with an emotional component. Growing in popularity is the hot stone massage. Heated smooth stones are placed on certain points on the body to warm and loosen tight muscles and to balance energy centers. The therapist may also hold the stones and apply gentle pressure with them. The warmth is comforting and hot stone massage is a good for people who have muscle tension but prefer a nice massage.
